Just in time for summer! Last week, Mimico Waterfront Park officially opened its second and final phase in Etobicoke. Running along the shores of Lake Ontario, Mimico Waterfront Park is a welcomed and beautiful addition to the  neighbourhood.

The first phase of the Waterfront Park opened with the first 600 metres in 2008.

The 500 metre addition allows the people of Toronto to enjoy 1.1 kilometres of a gorgeous park, stretching from Norris Crescent Parkette to Humber Bay Park West. Now, Torontonians are connected to the lake and can enjoy the park which is completely pedestrian and bicycle friendly.

It’s all a part of the greater Waterfront Trail which stretches from Niagara to the Saint Lawrence River along the shores of Lake Ontario. Waterfront Toronto has worked with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority on waterfront parks projects across the city, including the Port Union Waterfront Park in Scarborough which connects to Pickering.

We’re extremely pleased that the Waterfront Park is now complete and open to the community. With its beautiful parks, friendly people, and small town charm, Mimico is a place that our Eleven Superior residents will be happy to call home.
